My Testimony

Picture this:
All your life you think you have everything figured out.  You think that life couldn’t get a whole lot better because you have it all right.  You know what to do with any situation that crosses your path.  You don’t trust anyone; you keep most things to yourself; everything you do is based around one idea, and one idea only.  It’s based on your gut.  Then one day you wake up and you realize that you didn’t have it figured out at all.  Everything that you thought was right was actually wrong.  Maybe you should trust some people, or maybe you shouldn’t always trust your gut.  You realize that there has got to be something else out there, someone else out there.  You search and search for that something or someone, that one thing that really does make the world go round.  You start asking questions like “how did we all get here? How did the earth get here, or the trees, and the grass and the animals?”

 Back to now:
Have you ever thought about any of these things?  Have you ever thought maybe there is a God out there, or that there is something out there that is looking over everything, even you?  I have.  I always kind of thought that someone had to put us here, but I was never sure about this whole “God” thing.  It wasn’t until I did something amazing that I started to have faith in this God figure.  I went on a mission trip to Jamaica with my church.  Before I had gone on the mission trip, I had figured out that there had to be a God and that he had to be looking out for us.  That’s why I decided to go on the mission trip.  I thought it would be a good thing to do and something fun to pass time during the summer.  I never thought that it would change my life completely.  When I came back from the mission trip, I started studying different aspects of the bible and learning more about God.  I started changing the way I live my life.  It was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me.

Now, I am by no means, “perfect”.  Of course I make mistakes, just like everyone else on this earth, but I do my best to be the person that God wants me to be.  I read devotionals, I pray, and I go to a wonderful church, but all of that really wouldn’t mean anything if I didn’t learn anything from it.  I learn something more about God and myself and who he wants me to be every single day.  I was not born again just once; I am born again every day of every week of every month of every year.  I do not just try to fit him into my schedule, I base my whole day and my whole mind around him.  I make mistakes, and there are some things that I have a hard time forgiving, but I am learning and I am getting better every day.  I am not as insecure as I once was, nor am I as dramatic as most teenage girls.

I am a teenage girl who has found her rock.  My rock is not a boyfriend, or a friend, or teacher, or even a family member.  It is the guy who created us all and made us who we are.  My rock is God.

This is How it's Going to Work

Welcome to my blog!  This is my first blog ever, so if I mess something up, don't make fun of me, please.  This is the place where I will post my best thoughts ever!  Everything on here is all my original thinking.  If I do add something that someone else said, or a famous quote, I will be sure to show who it is from.  When I mention other people, other than someone famous, I will use other names in order to protect their identity.

You can always feel free to give ideas as to what I should write about.  If you would like my opinion on a major issue in the world, I would be glad to write about it!  Really, if there is anything at all that you think I should write about, just let me know and you may see it here.  I will be posting something every tuesday.  There may be weeks when I post something more than once a week, so be sure to watch!

I am so excited to be starting this blog!  I am excited for people to see some of my inner most thoughts and opinions.  I have always excelled in writing, and I am excited to be posting it for the public eye to see.
